Introduction

Use the Organize Shortcuts window to group, update, or delete shortcuts. This window presents your shortcuts in a tree structure, with named folders. It operates similarly to the View Favorites > Organize Favorites menu in Internet Explorer.

The tree structure presents folders with the folderimage, and shortcuts with an icon indicating the rule type:

Each shortcut and each folder has an unedited text name.

Updating a shortcut

To identify the activity associated with a shortcut, expand the tree control so the shortcut is visible. Select the shortcut text. The activity name appears in the URL field.

To change a name, select the name and type the new name. You can also type the new name in the Name field and click  Save  . Shortcut names may include spaces and special characters.

NoteTo enter a shortcut name that contains an ampersand character (&), enter two ampersand characters.

TipAs a best practice, choose a name that identifies the activity and the test purpose. The shortcut results window does not identify which activity it ran or the parameters.

To change the URL associated with a shortcut, select the name, update the URL as desired, and click  Save. Use care when editing a URL; enter blanks and other characters according to Internet Engineering Task Force standard RFC 3986, often called URI percent-encoding.

Grouping shortcuts

Folders can contain other folders and shortcuts. You can drag folders and shortcuts into other folders to arrange folders and their contents.

When a folder contains one or more items, a plus sign appears to the left of the folder image. Click the plus sign to expand a folder before using drag-and-drop operations to add to its contents.

Use these buttons to organize your shortcuts:

Click  Save   to record your changes and close the Shortcuts Manager window.
