About the System Scanner tool

Basics

The System Scanner tool evaluates your system’s current inventory of rules, code, and hotfixes, comparing them with the latest hotfix catalog. It will list hotfixes that are:

• installed
• not installed
• incorrectly installed
• superseded by more recent hotfixes

System Scanner can also highlight potential differences between your Test/QA and Production systems, which ideally are mirror images. Similarly, you can learn how your Development system differs from your Test and Productions systems. See PDN article 26148 What is the Update Manager utility?

Starting the System Scanner

To start the Update Manager System Scanner, click > System > Tools > Update Manager > System Scanner.
