Your system includes standard activities for utility shapes, and you can create additional ones. In the Process Modeler shape, a gear icon
conveys the shape type.

Don't confuse Utility shapes — part of a flow — with the unrelated Rule-Utility- rule types; the Rule-Utility- rule types support Java functions.
A Utility activity can use the TaskStatus-Set method to return a text result to the flow.
