application name
Six rule types have key parts known as an application name:
- A Name is the first key part of an application rule (Rule-Application rule type). This is the most common use of the term. This name appears in the Designer Studio tab bar.
- The key to an Application ID data instance is also known as an application name. The Application ID data instances support external authentication (Data-Admin-AppID class).
- An Application Name is the first key part of a binary file rule (Rule-File-Binary rule type), eForm rule (Rule-File-eForm), form rule (Rule-File-Form), or text file rule (Rule-File-Text).
In the context of a Web application server such as Tomcat, PRPC itself is an application, and the term application name identifies a directory and the corresponding installed application. By default, the application name for PRPC is prweb. This use of the term application name appears only in documentation for installation and upgrades.
