A validate rule compares property values with a set of conditions.
For example, you can test that the value of the Time Entry property is less than eight hours or that the Due Date property is within the month of May. When a value does not meet the expected criteria, an error message is added to the clipboard. Using validation helps you restrict user input.
Use validate rules instead of complex activities. They are automatically called when an object, such as a rule or case, is created.
