Delegating a rule or data type

To delegate a rule or data type, complete the following steps.

Complete one of the following actions.
- To delegate a rule, in the Actions menu of the rule form header, click Delegate.
- To delegate a data type, in the Actions menu of the Data Designer, click Delegate.
- Select the appropriate option that denotes how the end user will interact with the delegated rule. The options displayed depend on the rule type being delegated.
- Manage content — For decision tables, users can modify decision tables; for paragraphs, users can modify the content of paragraphs.
- Manage data records — For data types, users can add, modify, or delete data entries for the data type.
- From the Delegate to access group drop-down list, select the access group to which to delegate the rule or data type.
- In the Title field, enter a title for the delegated rule or data type.
- In the Detailed Description field, enter detailed information about the delegated rule or data type. This text is displayed to the user.
You should provided information about how the delegated rule or data type will impact the application. For example, if the end user can add a new row for a data type, explain that doing so results in controls now displaying the newly-added row as a selectable option.
- Click Delegate.
