Add the Attach Content control (pxAttachContent) to a desktop or mobile application to allow users to attach image files to an application. Users have the option to simultaneously add one or multiple files when using either the file browser or drag and drop functionality. This control can be formatted to display to users as a button, link, or icon.
Attach Content utilizes responsive UI, allowing the attachment screen to conform to various UI sizes across any devices accessing the application.
Using this control at runtime in a desktop application launches the default file browser window, and users can choose one or multiple images to attach to their application.
On a mobile device:
After initiating the attach process, users are prompted to attach a file. They will be unable to proceed until a file is attached unless they cancel out of the attachment process.
See PDN article How to use the Attach Content control for more information on using this control.
When working offline you have two options for adding an attachment: either from an existing gallery of the mobile device or by taking a picture from the camera on the device. A message is displayed when an attachment has been successfully saved in offline mode. Pictures that have been attached while offline will be available to view in desktop after the next synchronization has taken place. Using the Attach Content control is also supported for cases that were created while offline. See also Offline capability.
Note: The default size of an attachment that is supported while working offline is 6 MB due to a data sync limitation.
Once the control is configured to use Attach Content, use the fields in the Cell Properties window on the General tab to customize how the control appears to users.
In the Format Type menu, select either as a button, link, or icon. Each one of these options causes additional fields to display for each respective choice, which can be configured using the standard process for each control:
