Setting case-wide goals and deadlines in Case Designer

Set case-wide goals and deadlines in Case Designer to allow your application to automatically manage the rules that monitor your service-level agreements. Goals and deadlines are measured from the time that a case is created to the time that the case is resolved.

  1. Open a case type in Case Designer.

  2. Click Goals & deadlines.

  3. Select the Consider goals and deadlines check box.

  4. Select one method for calculating your goal and deadline times:

  5. Define the suggested resolution time for a case by completing the fields below the Goal reached after label:

  6. Define the required resolution time for a case by completing the fields below the Deadline reached after label:

  7. Click Save to store your settings in the pyCaseTypeDefault service-level agreement rule.

At run time, the Work-.OverallSLA flow, your pyCaseTypeDefault service-level agreement rule, and an agent are used to detect unmet goals and deadlines. Refer to the Case Details section of a case to see how much time that you have left to meet the goal or deadline.

Tip: Click Open SLA to open the Service-level agreement form. You can define more settings for your goals and deadlines, such as escalation activities and urgency.
