PegaSurvey

PegaSurvey is a RuleSet that helps you create and deploy surveys in your applications. The questions and other elements you create are modular, and can be reused in multiple surveys. The surveys display and work properly when viewed in all major browsers.

PegaSurvey is available to users with access to the PegaSurvey RuleSet.

The structure of a survey

When you create a survey, you create a nested structure that can be more or less complex according to the type of questions you want to ask. You can create new assets for every survey you create, but it is more likely that you will develop a catalog of standard questions that you can reuse in many surveys.

• The top-level rule is a Survey.
• Within the survey you include at least one Question Page, a group of questions (there are two types, simple and complex) usually related to some single category of information. A question page can have as few as one question or as many as are needed to capture the information being surveyed.
  Question pages can contain questions of either or both types:
  • Simple Question: a single line-item question, like “Are you full-time or contract?”
  • Complex Question: a group of questions with a unified response method, such as a set of radio buttons (“Select the answer that best reflects…”) or check boxes (“Select all that apply…”).

When you have located or created the questions you need, have grouped them in question pages, and have added the pages to a survey in the order in which you want them to appear to the user, the survey is ready to use in a flow.

Surveys and survey groups

Survey groups are sequences of related surveys. You can create survey groups that, when included in a flow, present a sequence of surveys to the user. The Group Builder gadget on the Survey Management landing page simplifies creating and maintaining survey groups.

Creating and managing surveys

The My Surveys gadget on the Survey Management landing page provides access to tools and resources that simplify the task of creating and maintaining surveys and survey assets. Although you can create survey elements by working with their rule forms directly, Pega recommends using the landing page. The landing page lets you create elements in the context of their first use, and simplifies their management.

Adding surveys to process flows

You can add a survey or a survey group to a flow. PegaSurvey includes a section and sample sub-flows to handle both individual surveys and survey groups. See How to include a survey in a flow.
