The term perform is used to describe what users do as they work on assignments. When users perform an assignment, they update information in the work item and complete the assignment. As a result, the work item might be resolved, or remain open and proceed farther through a flow execution, so that more processing is required to resolve it.
Selected standard harnesses support users as they perform assignments, by including an action section. They are known as perform forms. The standard harness is named Work-.Perform.
The Operator ID of the operator who creates or updates a work item, rule, or data object is sometimes known as the performer. For flow steps that the system completes automatically, the work item history identifies the performer as System.
