A step is a unit of processing that is typically executed as part of an ordered sequence.

Steps can be represented as:

• Numbered rows on the Steps tab of the Activity rule form.
• Numbered rows on the Rules tab of the Collection rule form.
• Numbered rows on the Steps tab of the Parse Structured rule form.
• Tasks within a stage of a case type, as seen in Case Designer.
