For a JCA connector, a request is an invocation of a resource adapter Execute() method. Use the Input tab to configure the input record type and the contents (elements) of the input record for the connector requests.

Description

Input Record

Use this section to define the input record.

Name

Specify the name of the input record as it is required for the adapter function this connector rule calls.

Type

Select the data type of the input record:

  • Mapped — The record type implements the MappedRecord interface (which implements java.util.Map).
  • Indexed — The record type implements the IndexedRecord interface (which implements java.util.List).
  • Custom — The record type is a custom type, a JavaBean that represents the external data structure.

Handler Activity for Custom Type

If you selected Custom in the Type field, select the activity that maps the values of the record properties specified in the Record Properties section to the input record.

Record Properties

Use this section to specify the contents of the input record. See also More about Connect JCA rules.

Data Type

Specify the fully qualified Java class type name of the input record element. Select a type appropriate for the Type of the Pega 7 Platform property mapped to it. For example, enter java.util.List for a property of mode Value List or java.lang.String for a property of mode Single Value.

Property Name

Leave blank unless the input record type is Mapped. When the type is set to Mapped, enter the name of the map key for the key/value pair being defined by this data mapping.

Description

(Optional) A description of the record property or the Pega 7 Platform property. This text is for information only.

Map From

Select the source of the value: Clipboard or Constant.

Map From Key

Specify the key to locating the property in the source. If the source of the property is the clipboard, the key is the a property reference. If the source is a constant, the key is the value of the constant.
