About Message rules
|
|
Messages contain localizable text that can be static or dynamic. You can use messages to display information to users, associate warnings with rules, or add information to a clipboard page or property. All warnings are instances of Rule-Message.
You can extend the message form by creating a custom category. If your application already uses messages, review the upgrade considerations for existing instances.
You can reference a message from a: constraint, edit input rule, validate rule, or another message. You can also pass a message to the Property-Set-Messages and Page-Set-Messages activity methods.
For more information on how to add messages to rules, properties, and pages in your application, see Working with messages.
Use the Records Explorer to list all message rules available to you. You can filter the results, based on the message category or severity.
To see all warnings in your application, use the Guardrails landing page.
Messages are part of the Technical rule category.
