Use the Specifications tab to link the entire flow to the application specification implemented by the flow and to display a list of the specifications that are linked to individual flow components. See About Application Specifications.

For Entire Flow

This section references the specification implemented by this flow. Click any value to open the specification.

Field

Description

Application

The name of the application that implements the specification. Click the link to open the application.

Work Type

The work type in the application that applies to the specification.

Specification Name

The specification associated with the application and work type that defines this flow.

The Edit button appears if you have defined a flow-wide specification on the Diagram tab. Click the button to open a dialog in which you can update, replace, or remove the specification linked to the flow.

Updating a flow-wide specification

Update the editable fields in the dialog. To change the specification's short description, click Edit label and update the value in the text box. For more information about updating the properties on the dialog, see Working with specifications in Process Modeler and Case Designer . Click OK to save your updates and close the dialog.

Replacing a specification

  1. Click Choose a specification and select an existing one from your application RuleSet stack in the autocomplete field.
  2. Click OK to save your updates and close the dialog.

Creating a specification

To create a new specification and link it to the flow:

  1. Click Remove from step if there is specification already associated with the flow.
  2. Enter a short description in the text box on the dialog header.
  3. In the text area, enter detailed information about the specification.
  4. Click OK to save your updates and close the dialog.

The system creates a new specification in the flow's case type and application.The specification Name key value is concatenated from the short description you entered.

For Flow-Wide Local Actions

This section lists specifications that are specified in the flow's Flow-wide local actions section located on the Design tab. Click a column heading to sort the list. Click a row to open the rule form for the specification.

For each row, the following information is listed.

Field

Description

Task Name

Displays the text, Flow-wide Local Action when the local action is specified on the Design tab.

Specification Name

The name of the specification corresponding to the listed local action.

Implementation

The name of the rule that implements the local action.

For Flow Components

This section lists the specifications that support the processing components of this flow. The listed specifications are those specified in the property panels of flow shapes in the diagram (which appears on the Diagram tab). Click a column heading to sort the list. Click a row to display the rule form for that particular specification.

Field

Description

Task Name

The name of task in the flow that is processed by this specification.

Specification Name

The name of the specification specified for the shape corresponding to the listed task.

Implementation

The name of the rule that implements the listed task in the running process. (The behavior of the flow at that point in the process is defined by the implementation details in the corresponding specification.)
