Adding a field group to a data type or case type

Add a field group to a data type or case type to store the values of a group of related fields in a page data structure. For example, you can capture the first name, last name, and address of a person in the Prospective Client field group.

To add a field group to a form:

  1. To access the data model tab for a data type:

  2. Click Add field.
  3. Enter the field group's label in the Name column. An identifier is automatically generated in the ID column.
  4. Update the field group's identifier that will be used to reference it in rules in the ID column.
  5. Select Field group in the Type column from the Complex types category. An autocomplete field appears in the Options column.
  6. Select a data type in the autocomplete field in the Options column or create a new data type by clicking New next to the autocomplete field.

Values from each field are stored in a page property of class [Your organization]-[Your application name]-Data-[Field group name].
