Building an Android app

To build a Pega 7 Platform-based web application into an Android mobile app, navigate to the Mobile tab on the Application rule form in Designer Studio. As a prerequisite, make sure you have configured the Pega 7 Platform settings required to build an app - see Verifying Pega 7 settings required to build a mobile app.

1. In Designer Studio, open the Application rule form and click the Mobile tab.
2. Click Custom mobile app.
3. Verify the required fields in the Custom app details section.
4. In the right-hand pane, select the Android target device platform .
5. In the Version field, enter the release version for your app. See also Auto-incrementing app build version.
6. Set up a certificate set for the app:
   • Create a new certificate set
   • If it is already defined, in the Certificate set name list, select an existing certificate set.
     
7. Optional: Set up debugging options
8. Click Build now, or Build again, if you have already built the app, at least once. The files are sent to the build server and are used to build the APK file for the Android app.
