Completing the Create, Save As, or Specialization form

Records can be created in various ways. You can add a new record to your application or copy an existing one. You can specialize existing rules by creating a copy in a specific ruleset, against a different class or (in some cases) with a set of circumstance definitions. You may copy data instances but they do not support specialization as they are not versioned.

Based on your use case, the Create, Save As, or Specialization form is used to create the record. The number of fields and available options vary by record type. Start by familiarizing yourself with the generic layout of these forms and their common fields using the following Developer Help topics:

Create a Connect SAP rule by selecting Connect SAP from the Integration-Connectors category.

A Connect SAP rule has the following key parts:

Connect SAP Record Configuration SAP connector Type Select the type of connector that you want to create. The Pega 7 Platform supports the creation of IDoc and SOAP types.
Context

Apply to

Select the class that this connector rule applies to.

Context Service Name

Enter the name of the remote service being called. This value is arbitrary and is only used to distinguish Connect SAP rules from one another. Enter a name that is a valid Java identifier. See How to enter a Java identifier.

Click Create and open to create the Connect SAP rule. If the connector type is IDoc, the rule form consists of the Service and History tabs only. If the connector type is SOAP, the rule form additionally consists of the Request, Response, Faults, Advanced, and WSDL tabs.
