Adding a smart shape to a flow

You can add a smart shape to a flow that is configured to perform a task, such as sending an email or creating a case, to speed up development. By using Process Modeler to integrate smart shapes with other shapes in your flow diagram, you can refine the sequence of events that a case follows at run time.

1. Open a flow by searching for it or by using the Application Explorer.

   Tip: To ignore validation errors while you work on a flow, enable draft mode.

2. In the toolbar of Process Modeler, click the Shape palette icon to view a menu of shapes.

3. Click and drag a shape from the Smart Shapes submenu to a position on the flow diagram.

4. Replace the default name of the shape with descriptive text that is fewer than 128 characters.

5. Double-click the shape and configure it by entering a value in each field of the property panel.

6. Click Submit.
