Modifying a delegated item
Developers can delegate certain items to you so that you can modify them without the need for involvement from IT. For example, with delegated items, you could modify the body of an email template or add or remove information from customer records.
To modify a delegated item, complete the following steps.
- In Case Manager, click Configuration.
- To filter items by keywords, enter text in the search field.
- Click Edit to modify a delegated item.
The type of information you can modify depends on the type of item and the options selected at the time of delegation.
- Click Check Out for a checked-in item to create a copy of the record in your . No one else can check out an record while it is checked out. The Check Out button appears when all of the following conditions are true:
- The record belongs to a ruleset that has checkouts enabled.
- For the operator, the Allow rule check out check box (on the Security tab of the Operator ID form) is selected.
- The record is not locked by another user or in a locked ruleset.
- Click Check In for a in your personal ruleset to copy the modified instance over the original instance in the public ruleset. This action also releases the lock so other operators can use the Check out action.

Click Discard to delete a checked-out record from your personal ruleset. The original, unchecked-out record is not affected.
- Click Save.
