Copying a survey

You can copy an existing survey in your application to save time and quickly reuse question pages, formatting, and supporting information.

Before copying a survey, ensure that the underlying survey rule is not checked out by you or another user.

To copy a survey:

  1. Click Designer Studio > Survey Management.

  2. In the Type list, select Survey.

  3. Optional: Enter search criteria in the Advanced Search section, and then click Filter.

    For example, you can find surveys updated within a specific date range or surveys most recently updated by you.

  4. Click Copy next to the name of a survey.

  5. Enter unique values in the Name and ID fields.

  6. Review the default values in the Applies To, Ruleset, and Version fields.

    You can change these values but specifying a different class or ruleset might make the survey incompatible with the questions pages that it contains.

  7. Click Copy to add the survey to the list of surveys on the Survey Management landing page.

After you copy a survey, you can keep or remove the question pages that it contains. If you edit a question page in a copied survey, your changes affect all surveys that reference the question page.
