Purpose
Use Application Specifications when defining an application's Direct Capture of Objectives (DCO).
Where Referenced
Specifications are referenced in the following places:
- Flows — The Specifications tab lists the specifications associated with the entire flow, flow-wide local actions, and flow components.
- Most Process Modeler shapes and Case Designer Outline View steps. See Working with specifications in Process Modeler and Outline View.
- The Specifications tab on a Case Designer landing page; references the specifications associated with the selected case type. See About Case Designer landing pages.
- An Assignment shape's available local actions.
- The Document Application tool.
- The Excel spreadsheet produced by the Sizing wizard.
- The Specifications tab on the Application Profile landing page. References specifications in the current application and in the RuleSet stack. You can also open this landing page by selecting the Specifications option in the Details area on the Application Overview landing page.
Access
The Record Explorer lists all the Application Specifications available to you in your application.
Development
To add new specifications, an application and corresponding work type for that application must exist.
Category
Application Specifications are part of the Application Definition category. An Application Specification is an instance of the Rule-Application-UseCase class.
