System Operations

Use the Operations landing page to view detailed information about the system and access system operations tools to manage agents, requestors, and data archives.

Access the System Operations landing page by selecting the Designer Studio > System > Operations.

This resource is available for users with certain privileges set for their account.

Role	Privilege name	Description
Observer	PegaRULES:SysOpsObserver	Can view all the available agent data.
Administrator	PegaRULES:SysOpsAdministrator	Can view all the available agent data and can perform actions on available data agents, such as starting or stopping agents.
System Administrator	pxSystemOperations	Can access new cluster information and node information pages and view the details of nodes in a cluster.

The Operations landing page includes the following tabs:

Cluster Management provides information about all the available nodes in a cluster. You can view the details about the number of agents, requestors, users logged on to a particular node in a cluster, and the state of the node.
Node Information provides information about a node that you select. You can view detailed information about any node from Actions.
Agent Management provides information about the agents on a system, their corresponding rulesets, and their current status. From the Agent Management tab, Administrators can start, stop, reset, or trace one or all agents. Administrators are encouraged to use the Agents tab when starting or stopping agent status, and should avoid manually changing Data-Agent-Queue and Rule-Agent-Queue instances, because this method can cause inconsistent results in the UI.
Requestor Management displays summary information about requestors. The defined requestor type data instances are defined which are Application, Browser, Batch, and Portal. Each instance determines the rulesets, versions, access roles, and startup activities used by requestor sessions of that type.
Logs displays a list of utility logs. From the Logs tab, you can also download .zip files. You can view or download the current PEGA log, ALERTSECURITY log, ALERT log or other logs on the server node you are accessing.
Purge/Archive provides information about the purge and archive utilities and a link to the Purge/Archive Configuration wizards. The Purge/Archive Configuration wizards enable you to automatically delete or archive old work item data to maintain system performance.
System Management Application opens the Management Application (SMA), a web application that enables system administrators and developers to monitor and manage the resources and processes of Pega 7 Platform applications.
