Configuring the Change Stage shape

You can configure the Change Stage shape after you add it to a flow. By customizing the shape, you can support out-of-sequence processing in a case.

1. Double-click the Change Stage shape in a flow, or click a step in Case Designer that uses the Change Stage shape.

2. Indicate which stage a case enters when the Change Stage shape is processed.

   To move the case to the next stage in the life cycle:

   Click Go to next stage.

   To move the case to a specific stage:

   1. Click Select a stage.

   2. In the Stage list, select a stage in the case life cycle.

   3. If you select [Other] from the Stage list, press the Down Arrow key in the field that is displayed and select a property that stores the name of a stage.

3. Optional: Select the Close open assignments from current stage on change check box.

   At run time, open assignments are resolved before the case leaves the current stage. All processes that originated from the stage, including supporting processes and excluding spin-off flows, are stopped.

4. Optional: In the Audit note field, press the Down Arrow key and select the name of a field value that is added to the history, or audit trail, of the case when the Change Stage shape is processed.

5. Click Submit.
