Developing rules in the branch ruleset

After you create branches, you can develop the rules for your branch ruleset. When you save or copy rules into the branch, the branch ruleset is automatically created for you.

For example, to update an existing rule, save a copy of the base rule (in its base ruleset) into the branch ruleset and work on that copy. To create new rules that are needed to implement the enhancement, save them directly in the branch ruleset; when development completes, after you merge the branch ruleset into the base ruleset, the base ruleset contains these new rules.

Note: When you have a record in a locked ruleset displayed in the Designer Studio, you can click Check out to branch on the record form to save a copy to the branch ruleset and check out the record in one step.
