Rebuilding a search index

You can rebuild search indexes if they have become corrupted or if they have been accidentally deleted. Reindexing can take some time. Progress messages are displayed at the bottom of the page during reindexing. Additional details and progress messages also appear in the system console log.

To rebuild a search index:

  1. Click Designer Studio > System > Settings > Search.
  2. Click Re-index to rebuild the complete index for the index type.
  3. For the Work- index file, select whether to index all classes, specific classes that you list, or all classes except those classes you list.
  4. If you selected to index specific classes that you list, or all classes except those you list, enter the classes in the List of work classes.
  5. Click OK.

The system creates the indexes in the directory specified in the indexing/explicitindexdir Dynamic System Setting as follows:
