Setting up an alternative server URL

In the advanced settings for a custom mobile app, you can set up the app to connect to another instance of the Pega 7 Platform. An alternative URL is useful when you are still developing stage your mobile app and want to quickly connect to another instance of the Pega 7 Platform, for testing purposes, for example.

1. In Designer Studio, click the name of your Pega 7 Platform application and click Open Mobile Apps.
2. Click a custom mobile app icon.
3. Click the Build tab.
4. Expand the Advanced section below the App branding section.
5. Select the Use alternative server URL check box.
6. Enter a URL address for another Pega 7 Platform instance, in the following format:
   http://<SERVER_HOSTNAME>:<SERVER_PORT>/prweb/PRServlet
7. Click Save.
