Verifying Pega 7 settings required to build a mobile app

Before you build a mobile app, several system-wide settings must be set up. These settings are configured at the system configuration phase by the Pega 7 Platform administrator in your organization. If they are not configured, contact the administrator to verify that your organization has been licensed to use the Pega Mobile Client app building feature.

Caution: Do not modify the following settings unless Pegasystems Global Customer Support has instructed you to do so.

To verify the build server configuration settings:

1. Copy each of the instance IDs that are listed below.
2. Paste the instance IDs in the search field in Designer Studio.
3. Press Enter.
4. When the search results are displayed, click a link to view the rule details.

The following system-wide settings must be set:

• Authentication profile – The MobileBuildServerAuthentication rule contains settings required to authenticate the Pega 7 Platform in the build server. Look for the MobileBuildServerAuthentication instance ID and verify if the following parameters are set:
  • User Name – You must set this when the license for the build server has been obtained.
  • Password – This is an API token that is generated in the build server for the specified user name.
  • Preemptive Authentication – This ensures interoperability with trusted sites and applications.
• Base URL – You must set this when the license for the build server is obtained. It contains the URL address of the build server. Look for the Pega-AppDefinition • pega/mobilebuild/baseurl instance ID to verify if this parameter is set.
