Application templates
The uses customizable application templates to create applications. When you create an application from an application template, the questions in the wizard help to customize the application to your specific business needs. After you specify the required information in the wizard, the system creates an application with the required case types, data types, access groups, and operators.
You can create multiple application templates, depending on the needs of your business, or you can use one of the following sample application templates:
- Custom – Use this template to create an application that contains no predefined case types or data types. Typically, you use this application template if you are familiar with building applications in Designer Studio or Pega Express.
- Request approval – Use this template to create an application that standardizes the request and approval process. The data model defines the information that is needed for a request, while dynamic or custom views ensure that the required data is captured so that approvers can make informed decisions.
- Service request – Use this template to create an application that provides a structure around service requests. This template provides examples of using field groups to define larger objects, sourcing picklists from data types, and using custom views to capture specific data.
- Task tracker – Use this template to create an application that captures data to create worklists. As a result, you can create, modify, review, and resolve work items as needed. You can view an audit trail for all cases and specify a service-level agreement for a case to get reminders if work is not progressing in a timely manner.
