Note: Local data storage replaced data tables. A feature on the Data Table landing page lets you convert existing data tables to local data storage.
Create database table data instances to map classes or class groups to database tables or views. You can use the Database Table form to revise existing class-to-table relationships.
A database table instance associates an existing class (and other classes derived by pattern inheritance from that class) with an existing relational database table or view, in the PegaRULES database or an external database.
In a development system that accesses the PegaRULES database with an account that has appropriate capabilities, database tables are created automatically when you (directly, or through a wizard or tool) create a class group or certain class rules. For example, the Application Express creates a class group or groups, and corresponding database table data instances.
If a table definition in the database changes, save Data-Admin-DB-Table again to recognize the change.
Use the Records Explorer to list database table data instances on your system.
The Data-Admin-DB-Table class contains database table data instances. They are part of the SysAdmin category.
Database table instances are always stored as rows of the pr4_base
table.
When you save a database table instance, if the Associated RuleSet is [none]
, the system completes this field with a ruleset from the current application. This association assists with application packaging. You can update the associated RuleSet using the field in the upper right corner of the form. See Identifying parts of rule and data forms.
If there is no ruleset associated with the data instance (for example, for existing instances not previously associated with a ruleset), the Associated RuleSet displays [none]
.
