Private checkout

You can perform a private checkout of a rule that is typically not available for a regular check out. For example, you can check out a rule that another user has checked out. A private rule is saved your personal ruleset and is visible only to you.

For example, another user has checked out a rule and is modifying it. Because the rule is checked out, you perform a private check out and make changes to it. If you check in the private rule after the other user checks in the rule, you will overwrite the rule that the other user has modified.
