Defining users and an access group for the application creator

When you specify an application as an application type for the New Application wizard, you must select an access group to add to the operator record for the user who creates the application. In addition, you can define the users that will be created for the application.

When you create an application from an application type, the system clones the access groups that point to the application, clones the roles in that access group, and creates any users that you defined. As a result, the clone of the access group that you specified for the application creator provides that user with access to the Developer portal of the new application.

  1. In the Designer Studio header, click the name of your current application, and click Open Application.
  2. On the Application wizard tab, select the Show application in the New Application wizard check box, if it is not already selected.
  3. For the New application access option, select the access group that you want to add to the operator record for the application creator. The list displays only the access groups for the application that have access to the Developer portal.
  4. Optional: Click +Add demonstration user to specify the users that you want to create and the access groups that those users have access to. (When you run the New Application wizard, you can choose not to create these users by modifying a setting on the Advanced configuration form.)
  5. Click Save.
