Presenting Flow Actions

Perform harnesses (Work-.Perform) present flow actions in an action section named Work-.pyActionArea. This section is included in Work-.pyWorkBodyLeft (which is included in the section Work-.pyWorkBody), and is not visible in the harness.

By default, the action section contains an Other Actions menu bar in its header that enables users to select other possible connector and local flow actions. An Add Work submenu allows users to start supporting processes, or add child cases. The menu uses a pxLink control that references the Work-.pyWorkActionsPerform navigation rule.

You can modify the presentation of other possible actions as follows:

  1. Open the section Work-.WorkBodyLeft and save it to your application ruleset using the same Purpose key part.
  2. On the Layout tab, turn on wireframe mode.
  3. Select the section include Work-.pyActionArea and click the View properties icon.
  4. In the Include Section properties panel, select the Use Section gear icon .
  5. In the Parameters dialog, use the following options:

If you do not select this option, the most likely action appears as the first selectable item in the list.

  2. Click OK in the Section Include properties panel.
  3. Save the .pyWorkBodyLeft section.

Modal dialogs

In certain contexts, your application can present a flow action as a modal dialog. See How to present a row of a repeating layout as a modal dialog.
