Deleting a field from a data type

To delete a field from a data type, do the following actions:

  1. Click the Data icon in the Explorer panel to display the Data Explorer.
  2. Click a data type from which you want to delete a field.
  3. On the Data model tab in the Data Designer, click the Delete icon at the end of the row of the field you want to delete.

This action only deletes the field if there is only a single instance of the field in the system. If the field has multiple versions, the delete action only removes the latest version. At run time, the system continues to use rule resolution to find earlier versions of the field. This function is primarily for fields that you add to the grid, and then decide to remove in the same session.
