You are here: Decision Strategy Manager > Simulations > Converting simulations

Converting simulations

Convert the existing simulations runs together with all their resources (input and output configurations) to Data Set and Data Flow rule instances.

You can convert simulations only in Designer Studio. The simulations must have the Resolved-Completed status.

  1. Click Designer Studio > Decisioning > Decisions > Simulations.
  2. In the Simulations landing page, click Convert simulations.
  3. In the conversion wizard, click Start conversion.
  4. In the Simulation selection step, select the simulations that you want to convert and click Next.
  5. In the Destination selection step, check the rules instances that you will create after conversion. Input and output definitions are converted into data sets, simulations runs are converted into batch data flows.

    1. Optional: Name the new data flows and data sets or use the default names.

You can convert an input definition to data set or sets when it uses structured data (Open the input definition and select the Fetch additional embedded pages option.)

    2. Make sure the correct ruleset and version is selected.

  6. Click Next.
  7. In the Review step, review conversion details and click Convert & delete.
  8. View the converted simulations on the Simulations landing page in the Converted simulation runs section.
  9. Manage the data flow that you created for the converted simulations in the Data Flows landing page.

When you run a data flow that was created for a converted simulation, the data flow uses the rule instances that are edited or checked out by the operator, not the ones specified in the access group context.
