Starting, stopping, and restarting agents

Normally, all agents start each time that you start your Pega Platform system. Agents running on a specific node start when that node starts.

For testing and debugging problems with agent activities, you can use the Agent Management landing page to monitor, control, and manage agents.

To access the Agent Management landing page, you must have the following privileges:

• pzSystemOperationsObserver privilege to view the list of agents

• pzSystemOperationsAdministrator privilege to view the list of agents and perform all available actions on agents, for example, to start or stop an agent

1. Click Designer Studio > System > Operations > Agent Management.

2. To start, stop, or restart an agent on the current node:

   1. Click the Node tab and ensure that you are on the current node.

   2. Select an agent or multiple agents that you want to start, stop, or restart.

   To start, stop, or restart an agent on any node or nodes:

   1. Click the Cluster tab.

   2. Click the down arrow next to the agent name, and select a node or nodes on which you want to start, stop, or restart the agent.

   To start, stop, or restart an agent on all nodes:

   1. Click the Cluster tab.

   2. Select an agent that you want to start, stop, or restart.

3. Click Start, Stop, or Restart at the top of the agent list to start, stop, or restart the agent.
