Add/Edit Requirement dialog box
The information on the Details tab on the Add/Edit Requirement modal dialog describes how a requirement is processed and provides supporting information, such as business objectives and business impact.
Only requirements in unlocked ruleset versions can be modified. If you click a requirement that is in a locked ruleset version, the fields in the Add/Edit Requirement dialog are displayed in read-only mode.
Complete the following information:
- Category — Organize your requirements by assigning them to categories. Select from the list of standard categories or add custom category values for your project team to use.
- Importance — Select the requirement's priority from the list of standard values or add custom importance values for your project team to use.
- Status — Optional: Select the current development state of the requirement, or define custom status values for your project team to use.
- Release — Select the target release for this requirement.
- Iteration — Select the target iteration for this requirement.
- External Req. ID — Provide an identifier that tracks (or refers to) this requirement in external systems.
- Short Description — Enter a short description for this item.
- Description — The expected behavior of the requirement and required steps to complete it. Do not enter information about exception paths. This information is defined by other requirements in the application.
The Associations tab on the Add/Edit Requirement dialog box contains the following fields:
- Rule type — The type of rule to which the requirement is linked.
- Rule name — The name of the rule to which the requirement is linked.
- Ruleset — The name of the ruleset that contains the requirement. Choose from the list of rulesets available to your application stack.
- Version — A version number corresponding to the specified ruleset name. Choose from the list of available, unlocked versions.
On the Associations tab, all associated or linked rules display in a table. The columns include rule type, name, ruleset, and ruleset version.
