Use this rule to define and configure a connector to an Enterprise JavaBean on a local or remote system. The services are deployed as Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs) within a Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE) application server, such as IBM's WebSphere or Oracle WebLogic.

At runtime, the system locates the local or remote services and connects to them using the Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) protocol.

Access

Use the Application Explorer or Designer Studio> Integration > Definitions > Implementations to list the Connect EJB rules in your application.

Select Designer Studio> Integration > Connectors > to start the Connector and Metadata wizard to create a Connect EJB rule.

Use the Records Explorer to list all Connect EJB rules that are available to you.

Development

You can use a wizard to generate classes, properties, and Connect EJB rules, rather than creating them one by one through rule forms. See About the .

To debug your application, you can simulate an EJB connector when the external system is unavailable or lacks a test environment. See Creating Connector Simulations.

Where referenced

Connect EJB rules can be referenced in an Integrator shape (Integrator) of a flow rule.

As of Pega 7.1.8, this rule is deprecated for data pages. Existing data pages that reference the rule will still work, but you cannot reference it when you create or edit a data page.

Category

A Connect EJB rule is an instance of the Rule-Connect-EJB class. Connect EJB rules belong to the Integration-Connectors category.
