Channels tab on the Notification rule form

By default, Pega Platform provides a notification web gadget and email channels for delivering notifications. You can configure both these channels on the Channels tab. If you define custom notification channels, those channels are also available on this tab for configuration. For more information on how to create a custom channel, see the Adding a custom notification channel PDN article.

Web gadget

Notifications in a portal are displayed as messages in a web gadget.

Field

Description

Enable web gadget By default, this channel is available for all notifications.
Display section Specify a section to display the notification message.
Default preference Set a default notification preference for this channel for all users.

Email

Configure the email notification channel by using the following options.

Field

Description

Enable email By default, this channel is available for all users. Clear this check box to disable this channel.
Subject Select the field value that holds your notification message. Subject also can contain parameters. This option is applicable only when the email notification preference is set to Instant.
Correspondence Select a correspondence template for the email message body.
Default preference Set a default notification preference for this channel for all users.

Mobile

Configure the mobile push notification channel by using the following options.

Field

Description

Enable push notification By default, this channel is available for all users. Clear this check box to disable this channel.
Message

Select the field value that holds your notification message.

Default preference Set a default notification preference for this channel for all users.
