Linking a URL to an application guide

You can add a URL to a task that leads to an internal or external resource. By providing supporting information in your application guide, you can help users complete tasks more quickly.

  1. Open an application guide by searching for it or by using the Application Explorer.

  2. On the Definition tab, expand a chapter in the Chapter name column.

  3. Click the Gear icon next to a task name to open the Task configuration dialog box.

  4. In the Action type list, select Open URL.

  5. In the Display text field, enter a label for the link that users click in the task.

    For example, you can enter a title for a URL that leads to an article.

  6. In the URL field, enter the web address of your supporting information.

  7. Click Submit.

  8. Click Save.
