About Binary File rules

Create a binary file rule to include a graphics file, such as an image (including GIF, JPG, or PNG files) or other non-text files in your application as a rule. This rule type provides the security, inheritance versioning, and deployment benefits of rule resolution to a file.

The following tabs are available on this form:

Binary file rules can also hold non-image text files, including Windows libraries (DLL file type), Adobe Flash files (SWF file type), or Adobe PDF documents (PDF file type).

Where referenced

Any rules that contain HTML, such as harness, section, and correspondence rules, can reference binary file rules.

Use the Records Explorer to list all binary file rules available to you. Use the Image Library gadget (using Configure > User Interface > Gallery > Images ) to view and search the binary file rules of image file types such as GIF, JPG, and PNG.

Binary file rules are instances of the Rule-File-Binary class. They are part of the Technical category.
