More about Paragraph rules
Create a paragraph rule to provide read-only text for a cell in a user form or correspondence. Paragraphs can include bold, italics, colored text, images, links, and other rich text, plus property values. Paragraph rules can be referenced in other stream rules. For example, cells in a flow action can include rich text that provides guidance to users:
Preview
To preview the runtime presentation of a paragraph rule, save the rule form and click the
Preview toolbar button or type the equivalent keyboard shortcut CTRL
+
ALT
+ P
. While design mode presentation of the paragraph
rule provides an approximate preview, the Preview display includes the results of JSP tags
in the paragraph, evaluated in the context of your current clipboard.
Localization
To localize a paragraph rule, create a language-specific version of the rule in each language-specific RuleSet. Unlike a simple text label, a paragraph rule may provide one or a more sentences, with more text and richer text than you can present with a field value rule.
Linked property references
For fields that are always displayed as read-only, you can enter a linked property reference, of the form .AAAA.BBBB, where AAAA is the linked property and BBBB is any property reference in the object identified by the value of AAAA as a key. For example, if the property AAAA has a value corresponding to a key of a Data-Admin-Operator-ID instance, then .AAAA.pyUserName presents that Operator ID's full name. This allows values from that object to appear (read-only) in the run-time display of the section, although your processing does not explicitly load the object onto the clipboard.
Examples
For examples, see the Pega Community article How to include paragraph rules in harness and sections.
Parent class
Through directed inheritance, the immediate parent class of the Rule-HTML-Paragraph class is the Rule-Obj-HTML class.
Security
If your application RuleSets contain Paragraph rules, run the Rule Security Analyzer before locking a RuleSet Version, to look for possible security issues.
