Meet Radha

Let’s start off by learning a bit more about your life prior to Pega. Where are you from originally and what is your educational background?
I am a proud Indian, originally from the lower ranges of Himalayas in Uttrakhand.  My primary education has been partly in India and Libya, because of my parents’ choice of workplace. I completed my university studies in Computer Science from Chandigarh and post-graduation in Applied Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Roorkee).

This mix of computer science and mathematics allowed me to receive a campus placement from Wipro Technologies. It was there that the foundation of ‘Business Process Management’ was first explained to me.

What motivated you to learn how to use Pega?
I earned a position with Pega in 2002 and that’s where Pega Process Commander was introduced to me as a “one-stop-shop” for all enterprise framework solutions in BPM. I was encouraged to learn the back-end of the platform and eventually I moved to the front-end usage of it, where I stepped up from being a Java developer to a Pega developer. I witnessed first-hand the tremendous capabilities that Pega has that can help business clients navigate their rules much easier and faster than their legacy toolkits.

How has Pega shaped or impacted your career?
It’s been a fantastic journey working as a Pega Developer, Business Analyst, Quality Assurance Engineer, Business Architect and Manager. As my career grew with Pega, having a wide range of certifications enabled me to anticipate upcoming challenges that clients might face. Through this network of satisfied clients, I started getting recognized as a Pega expert for my ability to deliver customer centric solutions, which I couldn’t have possibly imagined two decades back.

What message or advice would you give to anyone who is considering a career as a Pega Developer?
I would encourage you to attain the available certifications that are most relevant to your career goals. For any role you decide to pursue – as a developer, as a tester, as a manager or an architect - working on the Pega platform can make an enormous impact on your career.
