"1PC XAResources" error on WebSphere startup during upgrade

Using WebSphere, during a PRPC 5.4 SP2 to Pega 7.1.9 upgrade, starting the WebSphere server throws the following error.

Error Messages

[1/11/16 12:22:19:477 EST] 00000131 LocalTransact E J2CA0030E: Method enlist caught Illegal attempt to enlist multiple 1PC XAResources

Steps to Reproduce

1) Setup Pega with multiple data sources for their split schema database.
2) Start Pega.

User then reviewed and disabled TLS as well as configured XA drivers.

System was brought up and issues had disappeared, however, user did not want XA functionality.

Root Cause

The root cause was the unnecessary setup of two data sources for PegaRULES and PegaDATA

A single data source is all that is required but not XA configuration.
