Access error while creating new application

SA-31984

Summary

When user runs the application wizard to create a new application it throws a permission error.

Error Messages

You lack access to create an application.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a custom Role.
  2. Add it to the access group.
  3. Map the Access Group to an operator.
  4. Login with the operator and run the Application wizard.

Root Cause

The Pega OOTB Flow Pegaaccel-Task-Applicationprofile ApplicationProposal is skipping the Application wizard screen flow.

This happens based on the evaluation of the pzAdminIsAllowedToGenerate  WHEN rule which is referred in the RARO <ROLENAME> DATA-ADMIN-OPERATOR-ID.

The "Modify Instances" access control of this RARO evaluates to false in user's system. This causes the wizard to fail. This must be True to successfully run the wizard.

Resolution

In the RARO <ROLENAME> DATA-ADMIN-OPERATOR-ID the "Modify Instances" Access control must be re written to evaluate to true for a set of intended users.
