Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a backward compatibility defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules.
The issue is because the wrong pzFromFrame value “ActionFrame” is used while attaching a document. On a working system, you would see the value being “pyWorkPage” for pzFromFrame instead of "ActionFrame".

A customized version of Work-.Action section dating from PRPC 5.5 SP1 is used.
The Work-.Action section is deprecated.

In PRPC 6, it is recommended to upgrade to the Work-.pyActionArea:

In Pega 7, it is recommended to upgrade to dynamic container:

Furthermore, the following PDN article document explains the kind of issue that could be experienced if the deprecated Work-.Action section is used.

Resolution

This issue is resolved through the following local-change:

Upgrade Work-.Action section to dynamic container component (ideally) or to Work-.pyActionArea.
