Activity could not be found.

You encounter an error when developing an activity. You have a step with an embedded page group as the step page. It is defined on another class as $ANY and is remapped to a particular class via "pages and classes" and created via Page-New. The method is a call to an activity associated to the class specified on "pages and classes"/Page-New class parameter.

Error Messages

"Activity could not be found."

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a class with a page group defined as $ANY
  2. Create an activity with a page to the class mentioned above
  3. Do a Page new to a page within the defined page group as a particular class
  4. Do a call to an activity on the particular class using the page group instance as the step page.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a backwards compatibility defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules. The OpenActivityMethod activity step 2 has a defect which prevents it from using the class associated to the step page.

This issue is resolved through the updating to Pega 7.1.7.
