ADM clustered installation configuration

SA-13056

Summary

User requires information on Adaptive Decision Manager (ADM) installation in a clustered environment for failover support.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

Install ADM in a cluster.

Root Cause

ADM should not be installed/enabled in a cluster. It should only be installed/enabled on a single, dedicated node.

Resolution

The explanation for this behavior is as follows:

The ADM deployment architecture calls for a single ADM server. Pega recommends a dedicated node, only running ADM and not configured to receive PRPC requests.
This node should be separate from the regular nodes you create to service user requests.

Handling failover is territory of the Fail Safe feature in ADM. Again, multiple nodes should NOT be used. Please review the documentation regarding Fail Safe Mode on page 36 of the DSM documentation:  https://pdn.pega.com/documents/decision-strategy-manager-installation-guide-718
