Advanced Search not working correctly

Summary



User is creating a work object in one timezone and displaying the work object from other timezone.

User has two date properties,using which displaying the the work objects created in that period of time.

The two date properties are converted to operators timezone using FormatDateTime function.

But when displaying the workobjects from other timezone the work objects are not shown.

Steps to Reproduce



1.Create a case in one time zone.
2.Try to open it from other timezone.


Root Cause



The CreateDateTime property will be stored in GMT format irrespective of operators timezone.

The FormatDateTime function is converting the Date properties to operators timezone and hence when searching, the Date value is changed and displaying the work objects created in other time period.


Resolution



User is suggested not to use FormatDateTime function for the DateTime properties used in search criteria.
