Agile Studio Backlog dropdown is not populating in EPIC

SA-62754

Summary

Unable to assign a Backlog to the EPIC for the following scenarios.

Scenario 1:

Unable to select the backlog as the Backlog dropdown does not prepopulate. This occurs when an
EPIC is created after selecting the product and release.

Scenario 2:

Error occurs in the D_ListOfBacklog data page while editing or updating an EPIC.

Environment: Pega 7.4, Agile Studio 7.4, Tomcat 8.5, and SQL Server 2016

Error Messages

InvalidReferenceException AllAssignmentsAssociation.pxAssignedOperatorID Unexposed properties cannot be selected for classes mapped to external tables

Steps to Reproduce

Scenario 1:

Create an
EPIC after selecting the product and the release. Unable to select the backlog as the backlog dropdown does not prepopulate.

Scenario 2:

Update the
EPIC.

Root Cause

Columns in the database views are created in upper case and the corresponding classes in Pega are mapped with lower case in the External Mapping tab. This is because the SQL Server Database is case sensitive and is unable to identify the exposed columns.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:
  1. Fetch the ruleset password to unlock the PegaProjectMgmt ruleset.
  2. Change the column names in the External Mapping tab for the below classes (Definition > External Mapping tab) with the column names from the respective database views. Save the classes.

  3. Save and Lock the PegaProjectMgmt ruleset
  4. Create or update an EPIC to test the behavior.
