Error Messages
Not Applicable
Steps to Reproduce
Press on Android back button in mobile application.
Root Cause
Behavior is working as expected.
Resolution
Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:
In the Hybrid Container(HC) aka Pega Mobile Client, the default behavior of Android “Back” button is not applied, as the content (PRPC app) displayed there is web based and not the same in native applications.
That’s the reason mobile app is closed once “Back” is pressed.
On iOS there’s no “Back” button provided by OS, so what client see is action triggered probably by PRPC engine.
Nevertheless, HC provides JavaScript API to handle “Back” button actions on Android, do check the link:
https://pdn.pega.com/sites/pdn.pega.com/files/mobileclient/7301/api/client_api/book_container_api_back_action.html
As stated in URL, BackAction “represents an object that enables the support for hardware buttons on Android devices.”
One can check examples provided in documentation to implement desired behavior.
